Stress Buster Video

You may be trying to press through your mess.   You may feel oppressed by your job or depressed with your finances or relationships.  You may feel like you’re making no progress.  Before you have a breakdown, try to break away from your routine.   Stop your busy world and stressful thoughts  for a few minutes.  You can’t fix everything and everyone.  God is in charge.   You will remember that when you take time to enjoy the outdoors.  Let nature nurture and soothe your soul.

There is someplace near you i.e. a lake, a park, the ocean, a river or even your own backyard.   Get outside.   Exhale.  Lay your burdens down.  Gain a new perspective to your old problems.    Watch my short video  and remember to share it with your family, friends and co-workers.

Get Up!

So often we allow procrastination, fear, the blame game and pity parties keep us down and out.  Every day is a precious new gift to get up and get it right.  Procrastination is a thief.   Depression is a set up to make you give up.

I love the lyrics of Mary Mary’s song “Get Up”  Here are the lyrics…

Layin’ low
Rest n’ pause
Sleeping long
Slow motion
Gonna do, Shoulda, coulda
Woulda done, Excuses

What are you afraid of?
Don’t you know
What you’re made of?
One of God’s greatest creations
Take this invitation now

Get up
‘Cause you can’t stop
Get up
Got a lot to do
24 hours
Almost gone
Get up
Don’t sit there
Get up
If you wanna get there
Clocks don’t stop and time won’t wait

He said
She said
They said
What do you say?
It’s your dreams
Your choice
Your time
Your life
So don’t you
Don’t you miss it

What are you afraid of?
Don’t you know
What you’re made of?
One of God’s greatest creations
Take this invitation now

Get up
‘Cause you can’t stop
Get up
Got a lot to do
24 hours
Almost gone
Get up
Don’t sit there
Get up
If you wanna get there
Clocks don’t stop and time won’t wait

Welcome to the rest
Of your life
From now on, just try
To live more, want more
Work a little harder
Dance more, laugh more
Be a little smarter
Hug a little longer
Love a little stronger
You’ve been down
But now it’s time to

Get up
‘Cause you can’t stop
Get up
Got a lot to do
24 hours
Almost gone
Get up
Don’t sit there
Get up
If you wanna get there
Clocks don’t stop and
Time won’t wait (2x)

One more time, say
Get up

Do you trust God?

As you ponder and worry about your circumstances, be encouraged today to TRUST the Lord.

If your heart and trust have been broken by others, your ability to trust may be difficult to develop.

If you can not trust yourself because of your past wrong choices, promises you broke, your lack of self-control, false starts or guilt, you may not feel worthy of God delivering you from your dilemmas.

All good relationships (personal and business) are stronger when there is trust.   People don’t usually trust someone unless they know them well.  It is difficult to really trust God if you really don’t know Him well.  If you don’t know His promises for your life then you will have little trust in Him to see you through any storms and valleys.  Who know well…you trust well.

To strengthen your relationship with God, it is critical you learn to know Him, study His word, His promises and trust His word. I know can be challenging to be still and trust God when you overwhelmed with stress. As you learn to TRUST God’s power, protection, provision and peace in your life, you will begin to ACT on His word because you TRUST His promises. As you grow nearer to the Lord, you will receive His remedy and response to your prayers.  No God…No peace. Know God…Know peace.

Let go of the worry, stress, guilt, shame and bad habits. If you trust your eyes, you won’t have trust in your infinite possibilities. Move forward step by step… by faith and not by sight.

“Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace–because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.” (Isaiah 26:3-4)

According to the Revised Standard Version Bible the word “Trust” is mentioned 147 times.

Old Testament – 134 times
New Testament – 13 times

It is taught mostly in the book of Psalms (44 times).

“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” (Psalm 9:9-10)

Your Divine Purpose

“How do I find my purpose?”  This is a common frustration and reason why  I am asked to provide life coaching, training, retreats and conference presentations.  Besides my health and my family, I feel very blessed because I discovered life purpose and signature strengths.  I tried many paths before discovering my purpose and calling.

My personality has the capacity of curiosity and a trial and error approach.  Some people have an “all or nothing” approach to implement ideas.  Some people get stuck with excuses, fear of success, procrastination or perfectionism.   I am still on assignment to encourage and empower others to ask, seek and knock until they discover their life purpose.  Success and life purpose are not “one size fits all”.   My books and CDs  offer you messages which can empower you to push past those nagging voices of resistance, procrastination and fear. There is something unique in your DNA.  There is a divine plan, purpose, and a gift your life can bring to others for God’s glory.

When you say “yes” to your purpose and “yes” to God’s way to fulfill your purpose, you will become an unstoppable force.

“If their purpose or activity is of human origin it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” ~ Acts 5:38-39

If you are frustrated and asking God to reveal your purpose and gifts, I offer you the following prayer I wrote… “Lord I seek your will and way for my unique life and soulprint. I desire to make a contribution to this world and my community.  Reveal to me how I can fulfill my purpose and bring meaning through dedication to something larger than myself.

I want to empty myself of pride, worry, sadness, regrets, distractions, sin, guilt, hate or self-absorption so I can be available to You. Your word says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'” (Jeremiah 29:11).   My heart is restless until I find rest in You and in my divine spiritual plan and purpose.

Whether you have created me for some type of social transformation, service to people in need, expressing my creativity or merely living a life of love…I am open to live up to my highest spiritual potential.

This is a brand new day to live without apology and to live with gratitude, courage, hope, love, discernment, vision and faith. I am growing each day with inner strength to overcome the challenges of life. My obedience, trust and patience in You, my heavenly Father, grows deeper and stronger each day. I am ready to walk in my divine destiny. Amen”

By His touch you can experience supernatural enthusiasm, boldness and power.  It’s up to you. Ask every day for the Father’s touch. – The Prayer of Jabez

Encouragement for Your Soul

Your life is like a book with many chapters we call seasons.

Some chapters tell the story of love, drama, comedy, mystery, loss, adversity, growth, disappointment, triumph, courage or a dark tragic love story about unrequited love, etc.

Some chapters are dull and ordinary, others intense and exciting.  The key to enduring, persevering and being hopeful is to never stop on a difficult page, to never quit on a tough chapter that seems too long.  Some chapters may be sweet but too short.

Your words, thoughts, actions and choices are the pens that write the pages in your book. Have the courage and faith to keep turning the pages believing better chapters lie ahead.  God is the author and finisher of your life.  Trust. Listen.  Believe.  Grow in God’s word.  Activate your gifts and talents.  Be creative.  Be kind.  Be patient.  Be faithful.  Be grateful.  Be fruitful.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;” …~  Ecclesiastes 3:1-22

He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; ~ Daniel 2:21

He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.”~ Acts 1:7

Still Standing In Spite of It All

When you feel at your wits end with stress, pain and a world that seems to be falling apart…remember only the strong survive.

You may feel forsaken, overwhelmed, exhausted and afraid.

Maybe your finances, relationships, health, doubt and hard circumstances make you feel like your world has turned upside down.  Maybe you feel like there is no secure ground to stand on to support you.

For those in grief, Christ offers comfort.  For those full of heartache or physical pain, He offers hope and healing. To those who carry emotional burdens and broken dreams, Christ offers His strength.  For those who struggle, He offers rest.

After the dust clears from dreams dropped, a job shattered, falling finances or the banging sound of change, you can still find a place of inner peace.  The Lord changes not and stands ready to guide and provide for you and your family.  Seek His comfort.  Study His word.  Surrender to His way.  Keep your hope and trust in the Lord even when everything around you seems hopeless.   Believe in God’s restoration and resurrection power for your life.  You can rise again.

Even during life’s darkest hours, confidently speak these words from Romans, “nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:31-39).

My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. (Exodus 33:14)

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. (Deuteronomy 33:27)

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. (Psalm 9:9-10)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46:1-3)

Weekly Encouragement

Inspiration and talent will only carry you so far. Your habits can make or break you.  Self-discipline is the consistent behavior that moves you toward your goals.  It is a series of choices that favors your betterment rather than indulges our whims.  The first step toward developing self-discipline is accepting that every action has consequences.  We are always given the choice to move forward or fail from our own stagnation, ignorance or rebellion.

From overeating, procrastinating, impulsive shopping, gambling, pornography, cheating, anger or drug and alcohol abuse, clutter… a lack of self control in your daily life will eventually catch up with you, if it hasn’t already.

Self-discipline is not about punishment or even about a restrictive lifestyle.  It is the ability to adhere to actions, thoughts, and behaviors that result in personal improvement instead of instant gratification. Self-control (self-discipline) is a one of the fruits of the spirit.  A lack of self-discipline is the main reason for the failures we experience in both our personal and professional lives.

Start with small things. Clean your room at home or your desk at work. Train yourself to put things where they belong when they are out of place.  Think about the old saying, “A place for everything and everything in its place”.  Get yourself to the point where orderliness matters.  Learn how to keep your environment clean and clear so you can function without distractions.   Learn how to say “no” to low priority or distracting requests, activities or cravings of the body.  To learn more, listen to my CD Sel-control – “The Main Thing is to KEEP the Main Thing…The Main Thing. Before you can develop the power of self-discipline, you must first take an honest and direct look at the excuses you use to justify your problems and poor daily performance.  A secret to decreasing your stress is increasing your self-discipline.  Self-control is your inner guidance telling you to put down the donut, turn off the porn, get out of the mall, turn off the TV, get on the treadmill, read your Bible, get up an hour earlier to avoid rushing and being late to work, shut your mouth and choose your battles wisely, finish your task at hand, hang up your clothes, return that phone call, put down the sweet tea and drink some water, etc.   Learning self-discipline in the little things of life prepares the way for big successes. Those who are undisciplined in small matters will likely be undisciplined in more important issues. In the words of Solomon, it is the little foxes that ruin the vineyards (Song of Sol. 2:15).  When it comes to a person’s integrity and credibility you cannot afford to allow the little foxes of disorder, procrastination and impulsive actions ruin your harvest of prosperity.  Inspiration, motivation, your talents and your education can only take you so far.  It’s your habits that determine your destiny.

DID is a word of achievement

WON’T is a word of rebellion

MIGHT is a word of mediocrity and little discipline

CAN’T is a word of defeat and fear

OUGHT is a word of duty

TRY is a word of little faith

MAYBE is a word of procrastination

WILL is a word of courage

CAN is a word of power and determination

DOING is a word of progress and fulfillment

DONE is a word of success

“So teach us to make the most our time so we may grow in wisdom” Psalm 9O:12

“How could I ever give up when I stand on the shoulders of great men and women?   How could I ever forget the due diligence, faith, pain or press of  so many nameless and famous history makers and dreamers?  I will continue to remember and give thanks for the dreamer who led this nation into social moral transformation with his anointing, vision, leadership, hope, love, wisdom, courage and sacrifice.”  ~ Jewel Diamond Taylor

“I have the audacity to believe that people everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down, men other-centered can build up. I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive goodwill will proclaim the rule of the land.” ~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

(prayer for you to read for yourself – suggestion – read it out loud to yourself)

Lord I thank you for new mercies, new strength and a new day.

As I experience the trials, tests and tribulations of life, help me to stay in peace rather than fall to pieces.

Help me not to throw away my confidence in Your love, mercy, grace, peace, and deliverance.  There a days when I feel strong, resilient and focused.  I see at times a window of progress and peace opening.   And yet there are times I feel impatient waiting for a breakthrough. I wait.  I watch.  I wonder when, why, who and how?

I feel like I am on a spiritual wait watcher’s program.  I need strength to persevere and have patience to wait for your divine timing in my life.

There are voices without and within causing me to think that I am defeated, unworthy and forgotten.  Lord I want to grow in my patience, faith, inner peace and wisdom.

I press each day to see results in my finances, family, health, daily demands, career and my purpose.   I give you thanks in advance as I renew my faith and resolve to wait and win.  I believe in your Word that You, Holy Spirit, are a rewarder of our faith.  Today I take back my power to speak, think and act with authority, clarity and joy.  I know my words have power, so I remember today that I possess what I confess.

I confess that I am a child of God empowered by His grace and love to be an overcomer.  I confess with my lips that I am healthy, wealthy, divine, blessed, guided and provided for each day.  I confess that I can walk by faith and not by sight.  I may not see or understand your mysterious ways or divine delays.  Yet I wait and depend on you Lord for your strength and guidance.  The past has passed.  Every day I am learning to trust and wait for the divine unfolding of my life and destiny.  Right now I am still and stand on your word and not my worries. AMEN, ASHE and SO IT IS

Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. – Isaiah 40:31

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him – Jeremiah 3:25

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart – Psalm 27:14

Trust in the LORD and do good.  Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Psalm 37:3

Faith and Peace During Difficult Times

I pray you find the peace that surpasses all understanding.  It’s the calm that comes when everyone around would expect you to fall apart because of your circumstances.  It’s the kind of peace that comes when you realize you cannot control others.   It’s the kind of peace in the midst of turmoil that allows you to surrender all to God because you realize you cannot do it all.

May you have sweet rest.   May you trust God enough to remember that… “this, too, shall pass.”

May you feel the presence of heavenly hosts around you lifting the weight of stress, grief, darkness, guilt, shame and fear.

May you recall all the times the Lord has brought you “through” and not focus on the things He didn’t do.

May you call on the strength and faith of your ancestors to help you hold your head up so you can press, persevere and have hope.

Remember that prayer changes things.   There is power in your words.   Speak up and speak over your situation.

Life is magic, tragic, wonderful and scary.  Life is in constant change.  May you grow wings of faith to rise above the pain and drama.  There is a place within your soul that no thing and no one can disturb.  Go there!  Go within.

May God’s tenderness, love and mercy cover you like a blanket.

May you begin to trust God and trust yourself enough to know that you will be guided and provided for always.

Your past defeats, disappointments, falls from grace or even the Trickster can make you think you are alone.   Lies!  The truth is God loves you.   Your Father God loves you so much and knew you would have crosses to bear.   Maybe that is why His word says, “Be not afraid” nearly 100 times in the Bible.   One reminder can be found in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled, trust in the Lord.”

Your life is not like a television program.  TV and fantasy can trick you into thinking that everything in life can be solved quickly.  During difficult times you may have to live with unanswered questions.   You may not be able to rescue and save your loved ones from pain.  You may not be able to save yourself from problems that have escalated and snowballed because of inaction, denial, ignorance of fear.    Rain falls on everyone’s roof and maybe this is your season for unwanted rain.  You may feel God has forsaken you.  You may feel sick, afraid, angry, confused, overwhelmed and doubtful.   Faith requires patience.  Take a deep breath.  Now take another one.   And yet another deep breath.

Can you take your hands and expectations off the people or circumstances that are causing you anxiety and fear?   I pray you find the courage to let go and let God.

Be still.  Be quiet.  Let your heart heal in the awkward silence.  There you will find the still small voice of God whispering…”Be still and know that I AM God.”

May the voice of the Comforter steady your heart and mind so that you think clearly to know what to do next.

When you are on your own road to Damascus like Saul in the Bible, you may lose your sight to see your way out.  And just like Saul, the temporary loss of sight could be God’s way to humble and show you He is greater.    Faith asks us to surrender fear, pride and doubt over to divine dependence.   Faith is trusting what you cannot see.  It’s a journey you take without the comfort of a map.   God’s word will be the lamp for your feet (Psalm 119:105).  You may not see who, what, when or how your difficult situation will turn around.   Your faith allows you to take one step at a time through the fog of fear.    Your fog will soon clear away.  You will soon have a breakthrough.  You will soon have a testimony.  Remember the words of the Jimmy Cliff song….

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day
It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day

Oh yes, I can make it now the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been praying for
It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day

Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there’s nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here’s the rainbow I’ve been praying for
It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day
It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day
Real, real, real, real bright, bright sunshiny day
Yeah, hey, it’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day
